Lörick was an independent village on the left Rhine bank before its incorporation into Düsseldorf. Its transformation into a premium residential quarter took place during the 20th century, as affluent Düsseldorfers increasingly discovered the calm right-bank riverside location. Today villas, large detached houses and upmarket owner-occupied apartments dominate the housing stock.
