Stockum lies in Stadtbezirk 9, north of Golzheim and south of Lohausen, positioned directly between the Rhine and Nordpark. The neighbourhood is characterised by generous residential structures, wide streets and an unusually high density of green corridors for a district so close to the inner city. Stockum residents literally have Nordpark at the door – and the trade fair and Rhine bank within cycling distance.
History and Development
Stockum developed in the early 20th century as a residential area north of the trade fair sites. Proximity to the Nordpark – one of Düsseldorf's oldest and largest parks – and a calm setting away from major traffic routes made the district from early on a preferred address for the prosperous. Villas and refined apartment buildings define the streetscape.

Stockum ranks among the more exclusive residential neighbourhoods in northern Düsseldorf. Rents sit above the city average; owner-occupied apartments and villas are the most common housing types.
