History and Development
Hassels developed in the course of the southern Düsseldorf urban expansions in the early-to-mid 20th century. Less systematically planned than Garath, it grew from the organic expansion of residential estates. Incorporation into the wider Stadtbezirk 7 made Hassels a neighbourhood sharing infrastructure with its neighbours.
